14 years

Been to the Isle of Wight today, not much walking, but the short walk that I did undertake was a sad one. 14 years ago today my Dad died. He was a month short of his 55th birthday. He suffered a massive heart attack while out for a Sunday afternoon drive. This was his second heart attack and followed a series heart bypass operations.

So much more is known these days about the causes of heart disease. The treatments available and support to stop it becoming a problem in the first place have advanced enormously in the last 14 years. Much of the progress due to the efforts of the British Heart Foundation.

Half of the funds we raise undertaking this event will go to the British Heart Foundation.

The BHF has a vision of a world in which people do not die prematurely of heart disease and is seeking to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.

BHF is the Lloyds TSB nominated charity of the year and as such the Lloyds TSB Foundation will match, pound for pound, all the money raised.

Sponsor forms will be available around Easter time so when you get the chance - please give generously and support this important and hugely beneficial work.
